Body Language #6 - Demi Moore |
The career of Demetria Gene
Guynes, more commonly known as Demi Moore, has fizzled in recent
years. The 37-year-old actress has been censured not only by film
critics and moviegoers who show their appreciation by putting their
bums on seats, but also by a celebrity plastic surgeon.
Asked what he thought of Demi Moores breast
implants, Philadelphia-based Dr Sal Calabro said he thought they were good and fit
her body, but as for her liposuction: She needs more definition in
her waistline. I would do liposuction on Demis waist, just to give her
more definition. Shes kind of straight at the waistline.
The surgeon, who appears regularly on eastern US
television, said: I would have done liposuction of the little triangle
above her tailbone, right where the crease of the buttocks is, to give more of
a heart-shaped figure.
Demi has also had a rhinoplasty, but on this front
critics have been less forthcoming.

Body Language #4 - Tom Jones |
Tom Jones is back in the bright
lights after reviving his career with an award-winning record and
forging musical partnerships with new, young bands. Not bad for
a pop musician aged 60.
As you might expect, the youthful look is not entirely natural.
Jones is reported to have had a facelift to shed a few years off his appearance.
Stretched skin has clearly relieved a few wrinkles and taken care of the sagging
that you would expect from 60 years of gravity.
As for reports that Jones has also had a neck lift and hair
transplant, these could not be substantiated. Jones, who hails from Pontypridd,
spends most of his time in Los Angeles. Although we could not confirm his choice
of cosmetic surgeon, it should be safe to assume he or she is situated closer
to the swimming pools of Beverly Hills than to the rugby pitches of south Wales.

Body Language #3 - Pamela Anderson |
Pamela Anderson has done much
to raise the profile of cosmetic surgery breast procedures. Implants
helped her land a long-serving role in Baywatch, in which her scantily
clad buxom figure was transmitted into the living rooms of millions
of viewers worldwide.
"My implants are definitely one of my biggest assets," she
said in an interview during her Baywatch years. "They increase my femininity
and make me more noticeable."
Recently there was much brouhaha in the press when the actress
had them removed. "I was really getting self-conscious of the implants," she
says. But she denies that medical concerns drove her to restore her breasts to
their natural state. "I have been thinking about having the surgery for a while.
I'm a petite person who no longer feels right as a large-breasted Dolly Parton."
Pamela has received much praise from breast reduction groups
who have benefited from Pamela's publicity.

Body Language #2 - Cher |
Cher's
fondness for the rejuvenation that nips and tucks can bring is well
known, and she openly admits she has become "the plastic surgery
poster girl".
But the 52-year-old entertainer denies she has few original
parts left on her frame and says rumours she's had cheek implants and a rib removed
simply aren't true.
"I've had my cheekbones since I was small. And it is impossible
to have a rib removed! When I heard that said of me I thought it particularly
silly but I will have to defend myself for the rest of my life against
it."
Explaining why she had breast implants she says: "Oh, because
they got so much bigger after Chastity was born, and I couldn't bear to see them
deflate."
Cher says the first time she went under the knife was to have
a rhinoplasty, a result of seeing herself on film for the first time. "I looked
at myself up there on that screen and thought, I'm all nose."
Cher says she's now begun laser surgery to get rid of two
of her "millions" of tattoos. But as for more extensive work, she says she has
grown tired of all the speculation that she's having more procedures.
"It bothers me sometimes," Cher says, "but not enough to hold
back my progress."

Body Language #1 - Joan Rivers |
"Do
you know what it means to be old? It means seeing your hands and
asking" 'Whose hands are these. Aaaargh! They're mine."
American
comedienne Joan Rivers says hands are still the great give-away of
age, but they're rarely the focus of attention. Look at Rivers and
you would never guess she is 65. She openly admits to having had
cosmetic surgery to make her look younger.
Her first operation was more than 20 years ago to remove deep
eyebags. Since then she has had her nose remodelled and her face and neck lifted.
Although Rivers is particularly proud of her calves and lower thighs, she adds
that her upper thighs were remodelled with a dash of liposuction.
Rivers not meets with her surgeon every six months. "You
paint the house and maintain the car, right? Well, I go to my surgeon every six
months and ask for touch-ups."
Rivers says she has lunch with women who tell her they are
only thinking about cosmetic surgery. "Right," she says. "This
is from women whose faces are already stretched so tight that when they talk
it comes from the parting in their hair."
