Six months later

I was anemic and the nose job revision was cancelled. So this is as good as it got for health's sake. The bump on my nose stays because the doctor insisted I had to cancel. All this work is healing well but the corners of the inside of my eyes are still thick and are taking their sweet time healing

I am happy with this view, but as a final result I would like it tighter. It is too soon to tell, however

Eyes healing slowly and creases still visible

 VICTORIA'S STORY

CHAPTER 6: Six months post-op
I can't believe it has been this long since I went to Mexico for a facelift. Well, here I am six months later and might I say that when they tell you it can take up to a year to see the final results they weren't exaggerating!
So far, the progress has been slow, with my ears healing and smoothing down. I went to a dermatologist and I used creams and I had shots of steroids to treat a keloid that had formed.
It is now much better. My upper eyes are the biggest problem for me now. I have been healing slowly and their is still have some thickening in the incision sites. I hope that they finally smooth down, as I am very aware of it when people look at me close up.
Everyone wants to look younger—I don't care what you say. The "fresh look" is the desired result most cosmetic surgeons go for. Let me ask you, honestly, didn't you want to shave at least five years off? Yes, it is nice to look rested. But I am 50. I have a daughter who hasn't even noticed—and she is obsessive about facial andbody details. So either I look like I did but "fresher". Or I haven't, or didn't, warrant much aggressive work from my doctor.
I still want to look younger. Truly! Okay, so I am happy with the overall picture I see in the mirror now. I went through a phase of change from red hair to different make-up. I am back to my original hair colour to see whether that makes a difference. I'm sure you have heard the story about celebrities and other people in the public eye, that when they have a drastic hair do or color change they have had a facelift. Look at a number of TV soap opera stars—it is TRUE!
If I had the money I would go back and have my nose done and tweak under the chin. The skin feels a little loose to me and I have a bit of a double chin. But we the patients are our worst and harshest critics. I am happy with the outcome. The whole experience was great for me and I hope that in a year I can say to you: "I am FABULOUS!"

I know I did the right thing.
