ZELTIQ Aesthetics share their latest developments for CoolSculpting, survey results, and new appointments
The CoolMini applicator is the latest development in CoolSculpting, and as a result of advances in clinical research against cooler temperatures, treatment times have been reduced by 25%, from 60 minutes to 45 minutes.
CoolMini works differently to other CoolSculpting applicators, with the whole applicator head forming the ‘cooling area’, allowing a larger area to be treated at once, and offering less suction for a more comfortable patient experience. This is particularly relevant when treating double chins as the neck area is delicate. Currently, CoolMini is the only non-invasive treatment available to treat this area.
A symposium hosted at IMCAS by Dr Farid Kazem, cosmetic surgeon from The Netherlands, and Dr Heidi Waldorf discussed this CoolMini technology, highlighting that similar concepts will be utilised in the new CoolAdvantage family of applicators, set to revolutionise the CoolSculpting treatment and reduce treatment times even further for all areas of the body.
Results from a public survey in the UK, Germany and France revealed that 82% of people felt they have excess fat, providing a massive market for ZELTIQ. The survey also uncovered that twice as many people are seeking fat reduction treatments compared with toxin fillers.
